About the Presenters

Bill O’Hanlon, M.S., L.M.F.T., is the founder of possibility and inclusive therapies and one of the pioneers of brief solution-oriented therapy. He has authored or co-authored 30 books, which have been translated into 16 languages, the latest being A Guide to Rapidly Resolving Trauma and Change 101: A Practical Guide to Creating Change. He has appeared on Oprah with his book Do One Thing Different, and on The Today Show.

Since 1977, Bill has given over 2000 talks around the world. He has been a top-rated presenter at many national conferences and was awarded the “Outstanding Mental Health Educator of the Year” in 2001 by the New England Educational Institute. Bill is a Licensed Mental Health Professional, Certified Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a clinical member of AAMFT. For his contributions to the field, Bill was honored with the 2003 New Mexico AMFT Distinguished Service Award. A Fellow and a Board Member of the American Psychotherapy Association, Bill is known for his storytelling, humor, and his clear and accessible style.

Symposium Description

Bill O'Hanlon, who continually brings cutting edge information into therapy, will dicuss how to create cooperation and change using the latest research from the fields of social psychology, behavioral economics and the new brain science. Participants will learn how to use these innovative and powerful principles in practice with some of the most challenging problems and clients we face, including depressed clients, clients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and other challenging presenting problems. This seminar will offer unique information not often available in typical psychotherapy presentations.
